Adding a link in your Instagram bio
If you’ve been on Instagram lately, you’ve probably noticed creators referring their followers to their “link in bio”. These links often go to their favorite websites, influencers, or other content that they enjoy.
Similar to TikTok, Instagram places a limit on the number of links you can have in your bio. Currently, creators can only have one link to their website of choice in their Instagram bio. Due to these limitations, it’s a great idea for creators to use a link in bio tool which allows them to link to a custom page with multiple links to their favorite content.
Tools like pager allow content creators to create beautiful pages and collections of screenshots which automatically link to all of their favorite websites, social media accounts, Spotify songs, and much, much more.
How to add a link to my Instagram bio.
-Add your links, screenshots, and other content that you want to showcase to your followers.
-Generate your link (for example, https://pager.xyz/marthestarr)
-Open your Instagram account, either on your phone or desktop.
-Tap on “Edit Profile” at the top of your profile page.
-Enter your link in bio link into the website field. This will be the website you feature on your profile (and will be clickable, as opposed to regular text).
-Press “submit” to save the changes.
-Visit your profile and make sure you can click the link, and that it brings you to the correct page.
As a bonus, Instagram also allows you to share links through your stories. Since stories are temporary, it’s a great idea to have a permanent link in your bio that goes to your link in bio main page. In your stories links, it’s best to add links directly related to the content of the story. pager makes this easy to do with collections, which are groupings of related content. For example, if you post a story about your favorite restaurant to eat at, you could link to your pager collection with a list of your favorite restaurants.
Why should I add a link to my Instagram bio?
Instagram bio links are a great way to showcase additional content you’ve created outside of the Instagram platform. This can include links to other social media sites like TikTok or Twitter, links to your personal website, links to Youtube, Spotify, or even your ecommerce store to sell merchandise. Without a link to these other sites, the likelihood that your followers will find and engage with you outside of Instagram is very low.
Ideas for links to add to your Instagram bio.
Below are some ideas for different types of links you can share in your Instagram bio.
-Your personal website: This is a great way to grow your email list so that you can communicate with your followers directly.
-Your blog: If you have a blog, having a link to it can allow people to learn more about your passions and interests.
-Your podcast: This could be a link to your podcast on Spotify, or to download it on Apple podcasts.
-Your ecommerce store: If you have an ecommerce store, like Shopify, adding a link in your bio is a great way to get traffic and sales for your products.
-Your other social media profiles: If people follow you on Instagram, chances are they’ll want to follow you on TikTok, Twitter, and other social media platforms they use.
-Your affiliate links: If you partner with others, sharing your affiliate links is a great way to earn passive income from your followers.

You can also use emojis to highlight your link in bio, but don’t overdo it. Usually one or two is sufficient to draw attention to the link. In addition, don’t immediately try to make a sale or ask your followers for their email address. It is best to offer value and helpful content related to what they already love about your Instagram. Consider adding links to your most popular and useful content, exclusive deals or discounts, and more.
Lastly, calling out your link in bio in your comments and in your videos can be a great way to draw people’s attention to your link in bio and to click on it.
